Self-compassion is key to a fulfilling life. But how can you start living with compassion for yourself in a world of chaos?

Our world suffers from an inability to show compassion — to anyone else, but especially ourselves.

You’ve been there before.

You wake up to yet another day where you have to go to a job you can’t stand. You’re tired, you’re grumpy, and you just want to crawl back into bed.

But, you get yourself up and moving because you have bills to pay and responsibilities that you can’t ignore.

As you go through your day, you find yourself getting more and more irritated.

Everything seems to be going wrong. Your boss is breathing down your neck, your co-workers are being irritating, and you just can’t seem to catch a break.

By the end of the day, you’re exhausted, both mentally and physically. You come home to an empty house or an unsupportive partner, and you just want to forget the whole day ever happened.

This is where self-compassion comes in. When we’re going through tough times, it’s important to show ourselves compassion.

We wouldn’t dream of being so hard on our friends or loved ones, so why do we treat ourselves this way?
