I moved into my freelance writing career from my previous role as a pastor. The years I worked in ministry were amazing yet incredibly challenging — and ultimately, not sustainable for me.

But I quickly realized that one of the biggest advantages I had as a freelancer was my own willingness to be kind — something that had served me so well in my previous career.
