Freelancing is (Kinda) Like Having A Baby

Just hear me out.

As a dad who’s been through the pregnancy journey with my partner, I can’t help but notice the surprising similarities between my freelancing experience and the nine-month roller coaster ride that is pregnancy.

Now, before you start giving me the side-eye, hear me out.

I may not have firsthand experience with the physical aspects of pregnancy (and let’s be real, I’m grateful for that, and amazed at my wife.)

But I’ve been there for the emotional highs and lows, the anticipation, and the sheer unpredictability of it all. (3 times now!)

And you know what? The freelancing journey isn’t all that different.

Just like pregnancy, freelancing is filled with excitement, planning, and countless dreams about the future.

You can read all the books, attend all the masterminds, and create the most detailed business plan — but at the end of the day, you have to accept that some things are simply out of your control.

Sound familiar, fellow solopreneurs?

The Excitement Phase

Remember the moment you decided to take the leap into freelancing?
