5 Tips for the Struggling Freelance Writer

If you’re a freelance writer, chances are you’ve struggled at one point or another to find clients, get paid what you’re worth, or simply keep the motivation going.
Trust me — I know the feeling. I’ve been a freelance writer for over four years, and there have been plenty of times when I’ve wanted to give up. A slowdown in clients, brutal feedback, imposter syndrome — you name it, I’ve dealt with it.
But I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be this way. If you’re struggling as a freelance writer, there are things you can do to turn things around.
Through my experience, here are five tips that have helped me become a successful freelance writer:
1. Get organized
If you’re going to be a freelance writer, you need to treat it like a business. This means getting organized and staying on top of your deadlines, finances, and client communications.
A great way to do this is to use a project management tool like Trello or Asana to keep track of your assignments and their due dates. And don’t forget to invest in a great CRM and finance-tracking tool — it may just save your life!
