5 Tips to Help You Own this Week
Don’t fear the #SundayScaries with these 5 tips to help you charge head-on into your new week.
Today is Sunday.
You what that means? Tomorrow is #Monday, and you have a new chance to take on a week with brand new opportunities.
Okay, I hear you. Hearing that Monday is coming is about as enticing as a root canal appointment or the arrival of a jury duty summons.
But here’s the good news! Who said that you can’t make Monday (and the rest of the days of the next week) the best yet? If you were looking for a bit of Sunday motivation, read on for a weekend dose of motivation.
5 Tips to Own This Week
1. Dress for Success
Starting your work week is a fresh start. Therefore, it’s time to start fresh with your wardrobe and #MondayMood.
Picking an outfit that reflects how you want to feel on this new Monday will help you project the image of having confidence and enthusiasm all day long. You will be more likely to see opportunities rather than find obstacles standing in your way.
2. Think of the Purpose
Monday is when you start to figure out how to face all those tasks for the week. Visualizing yourself doing this will help you stay motivated as you go through your day.
What if you created a purpose statement for this week and set your sights on a single 5-day sprint toward that goal?
3. Turn off the TV
As you are getting ready, try not to waste your time with bad news and drama on the television. By no means do I recommend avoiding the news altogether, but don’t let something negative fill your mind as you begin this new week.
Be informed and act for change, but don’t let yourself fall victim to the power of hopelessness. Not this Monday!
4. Get your Sleep On
Oh, come on, you knew this one would be on here!
Yes, yes technology is amazing and we can ALWAYS find something to do. However, when we don’t get enough sleep, our bodies often want to make up for it.
Getting at least 7 (go for 8!) hours of sleep is a must and will help you be much more productive throughout the entire day.
5. Make a Plan for Each Day
Making a plan for your day will make it easier to stay focused when things get chaotic. You can also use this plan to help you schedule in time for important tasks and not have them fall on a whim.
Set aside 30 minutes to plan out the next day before you go to bed. This will help you feel much more prepared for your day, and in turn, improve your #MondayMood.
Take One Tip and Tackle It This Week
Here’s the secret to this list of tips: you don’t have to do any of them! What freedom! Perhaps that freedom itself can help you feel a bit more motivated going into the week!
But in all seriousness, what would your week look like if you took one of those tips and ran with it this week? What would you need to do to make it happen?
Pick one, own it this week, and report back next week with the results. Your future self will thank you!
