One of my favorite characteristics of my wife is her deep commitment to pushing through obstacles and achieving her goals. She has this internal fire that allows her to power through even when things get tough.

On the other hand, I tend to be more of a quitter.

At the first sign that something is difficult, I often find myself wanting to give up and move on to something else.

It’s not that I don’t want to achieve things or be successful. I just haven’t been able to find that same level of motivation that my wife has.

If you can relate, then you know how frustrating it can be not to have the same drive and ambition as those around you.

But! There’s good news. There are three steps that I’ve uncovered as I’ve tried to find and unlock my own latent motivation:

  1. Set realistic goals
  2. Embrace change
  3. Take time for yourself

Let’s take a look at each step and how they work together to build motivation.

1. Set realistic goals for yourself
